Another hot one. Very hot. Not unbearable like St. Louis was, but today's heat easily justified another serious application of sunblock. Today's big thing was receiving a much-awaited shipment of special CD's that we are giving away on this tour. Also, if you happen to be one of those lucky fellows who have either emailed us through the Cave In web site directly or signed up on our mailing list, you will be receiving one of these bad boys in the mail fairly soon. The CD features our rendition of "Dazed And Confused" originally by the almighty Led Zeppelin, new songs "Down The Drain", "Acid Rain In The Black Forest", "Droned", our version of the song "Cave-In" by the now-defunct band Codeine (this is where we derived our band name from), and a live version of "Inspire" taken from a show we played in London last summer. "Acid Rain In The Black Forest" is our little tribute to the Crippled Dick Hot Wax! Record label for their steller re-issues of old jazz-fusion recordings from the 60's and 70's, originally released on a label by the name of MPS. "Droned" is a song we've occasionally featured in our live set for the past 5 or 6 months. Basically, if we see that you're out there in the audience, singing along, flailing your arms, giving us the middle-finger, showing your praises in the front few rows and making it obvious that you're enjoying our set, we'll make it a point to hand out a copy of this CD in your general direction. Or, if you happen to see any one of us walking around the fairgrounds, don't hesitate to ask us for a copy. We don't bite unless we're hungry.
