LOLLAPALOOZA: MANSFIELD, MA
We've been saying "the 'Boston' show, the 'Boston' show" for weeks now, but Mansfield is technically about an hour or so from the actual city itself. The day before the show was spent up at Big Island Pond, a massive lake just across the Massachusetts border. Adam's family owns a house right on the water, so we got to swim, joyride in a really fast boat, and also barbeque a large amount of goodies for the day. The show itself was great - I mean, have we ever been really let down by our own people? That's the one great thing about playing in our hometown turf - with all the traveling we have been doing in the past 2 years or so, we can always count on having a good time back with our friends and family. We also drove the van right under the suspension bridge pictured on the front cover of "Antenna" for our first time. During the photo shoot for the album cover art back in November of 2002, the bridge was still undergoing construction and no vehicles were permitted to actually drive on the thing until somewhat recently.
